I think TravelMate 6293 model is a good match between price and performance. Featuring Duo Processor P8600 with 2GB ram memory is a nice deal and you can buy this one for around 1000 US.

Strengths = light and compact Weaknesses = lots of problems with hard drives Comments_ = Acer technical support was very bad in Canada. As an Acer reseller I was treated pretty bad. My 2 month old travelmate 4070 was returned 3 times at my expense after 1.5 months ot total time in service I ended replacing the hard drive at my cost. Further my orginal motherboard and video option was replaced with a cheaper video and motherboard then what I orginally purchased. We no longer sell acer notebooks as a result of this poor service

Hi I think Acer Laptops are grate for money can buy and at the same time packed with latest technology. Featuring AMD Turion 64X2 processor is a good push to applications speed. Other models Aspire as 1521 featuring AMD Athlon 3000+ and Acer TravelMate 4674 with Core Duo T3500. I Like Acer Ferrari 5006 as it am made of fine rugged materials blended with advanced technology. Another one is Acer TravelMate 8210 with Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7200 and Really High Resolution TFT Screen of 1680 x 1050. It has a dark color body that doesn't distract you form your work and over all grate features.
